Hockensen, a 12-yard run by Stafford and then a penalty on rookie defensive lineman Zach Allen on fourth down to give Detroit a first down. The big plays are a 39-yard completion to tight end T.J. The Lions go 95 yards for the touchdown, coming on a nine-yard pass from Matthew Stafford to Kenny Golladay. The Arizona offense continues to struggle and then the defense starts to erode. David Johnson gets to the one-yard line on first down but the Cardinals can’t get it into the end zone and settle on a 20-yard Zane Gonzalez field goal with a little more than a minute left in the first half. Trent Sherfield makes his second big play on special teams and recovers a muffed punt inside the 10. The Cardinals still do not have a touchdown with Kyler Murray on the field. It stalls again and Zane Gonzalez connects from 43 yards to make it 17-6. Then the Cardinals get some movement offensively, getting 42 yards on the next drive. The offense hasn’t gotten much better for the Cardinals but the defense forces two straight three-and-outs. It ends with a Matthew Stafford touchdown pass to rookie tight end T.J. With a rhythm passing game, they moved the ball 70 yards in seven plays, all completed passes. ![]() It took until the fourth quarter, but the offense finally looked like an offense. They convert the two-point conversion on a throw from Murray to Christian Kirk. He completes seven passes, including a four-yard touchdown to Larry Fitzgerald. The Cardinals manage to get the ball back and Kyler Murray leads a game-tying drive with 43 seconds left in regulation. They can’t end the game and settle on Zane Gonzalez’ fourth field goal of the game to give them the overtime lead. The Cardinals win the toss and Kyler Murray completes a 45-yard pass to Larry Fitzgerald, his eighth of the game, and the Cardinals get inside the 10. Tramaine Brock made a game-saving play in the end zone, breaking up a pass to Kenny Golladay. The Lions respond with a 33-yard field goal from Matt Prater. Tramaine Brock drops what could have been an interception, giving the Cardinals a makeable field goal but it is a tie in the end.
